6 Things I’ve Learned in the Last 3 months

Posted by Anthony Turner under Gardening Tips

* Not every writer is an entrepreneur. Many (if not most) are content to write/create and accept whatever money the make. All the while complaining they dont make enough. (and thats ok if theyre happy)

* Most writers still dont get the Net yet. Dont understand the primal shift in how it is being used.

* The shift to mobile is one such shift and it is critical to differentiate between how laptops and ipads use the Net compared to cell phones. One size does not fit all here as Ive recently learned.

* It is not enough (or wont be soon) to wrap a magazine as a pdf and call it an app. The world is moving past this (and fast) with things such as Flipboard.

* A website is still a viable publishing platform and should be for at least 10 years out.

*Graphics rule. Get over it. Need to learn more about creating text in graphic-pleasing ways.

Ive been very fortunate over the past few months to chat with some major players in the Internet technology world and have had my understanding pushed quite a bit further along to how these mobile technologies are being employed and actually used. Add a new ipad2 to the mix (Im now fully Apple-fied from phone to laptop) and Im starting to see how they all work together.

Onwards to my next lessons
