Control Cabbage Worms

Posted by Billy Hayes under Gardening Articles

Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis) is a very effective in the control of cabbage loopers, corn earworm and the larvae of many other moths. Bt is totally safe to humans but it is devasting on larvae. Adult cabbage looper moths lay eggs on the host plant which hatch into larvae that eat the plants. Bt attacks only the larvae stage, who do the eating.  Begin spraying when you see adult moths. Spray again every 10-14 days throughtout the season to catch successive hatching of eggs. Bt must be eaten, so spray top and bottom of the the foliage.  Bt products are readily available.
